Cisco Systems offers the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert, or CCIE, as a technical qualification. The Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) and Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE) certifications were created to help the company identify the upper tier of internetworking specialists and to test competent infrastructural network design capabilities throughout the globe.

Candidates for the CCIE should first pass a written test, followed by a practical experience lab examination. Even if there are no official criteria for taking a CCIE certification test, three to five years of professional experience and a thorough comprehension of the subjects covered by the examinations are required before obtaining certification.

For the certification criteria, there will be two different test sets:

  • Written Exam: 120-minute time limit, 90-110 multiple-choice and simulations questions
  • Exam time: 8 hours Exam time: 8 hours Exam time: 8 hours Exam time: 8 hours Exam (One day), CCIE Lab Tests have been formerly a two-day exam.

In 1993, the CCIE lab exam was created as a two-day examination. Because of the high need for CCIE certification, the lab exam had to be scheduled at least six months in advance. Cisco reduced the two-day lab exam to one day in October 2001 by eliminating several assessment measures such as diagramming, IP addressing, and troubleshooting.

When the CCIE lab test took two days to complete:

  • The first day consisted of the following tasks: repairing the network, assigning IP addresses, and configuring terminal servers: this is the way of evaluating your performance across all layer 2 and 3 configurations. The proctor would score your capabilities just before the conclusion of the day, about 5:15 p.m., and decide if you are permitted to take the second-day lab exam if you passed the first day with an 80 percent pass mark.
  • During the morning session, you will be given another document that includes further configuration duties on the second day.

The current CCIE exam lasts eight hours and is completed in one day.

  • The lab test is divided into three portions.
  • The troubleshooting, diagnostic, and configuration modules are all included.
  • The lab examination approach guarantees that the applicants’ ability to comprehend the essential networking information is assessed.

Within 48 hours, you will receive the results of the lab exam. The specifics of your mark on the primary topic categories are included in the failed score reports. If you clear your lab exam, you will receive a pass result that does not include the statement’s specifics. You can also go through the tips to crack the CCIE exams as mentioned below. Why not try these out?

Tips for CCIE lab exams: Why not try these out?

Learning from seasoned Trainers/Teachers.

You must receive training from persons who have already completed the CCIE LAB. They understand how to deliver a CCIE LAB Exam since they’ve done it before; they’re familiar with the atmosphere and understand what to do and what not to do. They’ll be sharing their knowledge and all of the tactics and strategies for passing the test on the first try.

Extensive Lab Training

Before taking the CCIE LAB Exam, you must first complete extensive lab instruction. The lab practice is what will help you remember and grasp the ideas. To pass this exam, you’ll need at minimum 5 to 6 hours of lab practice each day, alongside suitable instruction. To pass the CCIE Lab Examination, you must complete a minimum of 500 hours of continuous lab practice.

Current Topologies: An Overview

There are a lot of networking topologies that might show up in the test. Yes, you’d have to be aware of all of them. However, it is also necessary to be aware of the existing topology. In certain cases, the same topology might be repeated in the exam for several months or years. As a result, you must understand whatever you can, particularly about that as well. This can make it a bit simpler for you to pass the exam.

Strong Problem-Solving Capabilities

To achieve the certification, you must pass both the CCIE Written and Lab examinations in each track of CCIE Certification. Candidates must possess great troubleshooting abilities to pass this test. In every test, whether it’s for Collaboration, Wireless, R&S, or Security, you’ll be given a network and asked to troubleshoot it. You should’ve just learned from which source the packet originated and to which destination it will be moved, as well as how to debug the whole transmission.
