Through Dynamic Product Ads, you can target people who have viewed your products without making a purchase. One of the easiest ways to convert warm audiences is to give them just a little push that will make them convert.
How to launch your first dynamic ad?
You can jump to the next step if you have already taken some of these actions.
1. Install the Facebook pixel on your site
Facebook pixels track user activity on a website and are a powerful tracking tool. Every Facebook marketer should use it, and almost 4 million websites worldwide use it.
The benefits are undeniable, including audience creation, performance measurement, and ad optimization. Therefore, even if you don’t use Dynamic Ads, you should install the pixel on your website.
The Facebook pixel can only be created if you have a Facebook Business Manager account and a Facebook business page. Afterward, you must install it on your website, either manually or using a plugin.
You can use one of the ready-made plugins, like Shopify, WooCommerce, or Magento, if you use one of the main platforms.
Next, you need to set up the events you want to track.
2. Create your product catalog
Product feeds are used to create a Product Catalog. You must send Facebook a list of all the products in your inventory.
You can upload your product list to Facebook manually or via a plugin. There are two ways to either create a CSV/TSV/XML file and upload it to Facebook or use a plugin like Flexify for Shopify users to automate the process. Follow Facebook’s instructions if you choose to do it manually.
-Click Business Tools in Facebook Business Manager, then click Catalog Manager.
-Select the appropriate catalog type next by clicking on “Create Catalog.”
-Then, choose an upload method – manual or using your eCommerce platform – and name your new catalog. Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, OpenCart, and WooCommerce support plugins.
-Then click “Create” to set up your product sets.
3. Create product sets by segmenting the products
It may be helpful to divide your products into different sets when you have many products, and even if you don’t.
To target broad audiences, this feature is handy. Your top products can be combined into sets to increase revenue, for example. A different set can be used for different product lines or special sales like Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Let’s step by step create a product set.
-Choose “Sets” from the left-side menu in the Catalog Manager.
-Choose either a filter or a manual selection before clicking “Create Set.”
-Create a new product set name. Products can be segmented by category, type, brand, price, and more.
-Creating your first Facebook Dynamic Ad campaign is as easy as clicking “Create.”
4. Dynamic Facebook ads: how to create them
Click the green “Create” button in the Campaign tab in the Facebook Ads Manager.
Choose your campaign objective. You used to choose “Catalog sales” at this stage, but it is recommended to use Conversions, as it lets you add elements such as video ads to your campaign. Click “Continue” and name your campaign.
Choosing your target audience is the next step. You can either create a new audience or use an existing one. Your store visitors need to be retargeted, or you can launch a broad prospecting campaign.
Once that is done, you’ll pick your conversion optimization event – View Content, Add To Cart, or Purchase – and set your bid strategy and budget.
After that, you can choose between Single Image, Carousel, and Collection formats. Carousel ads are more common in Dynamic Ads. You should consider using a Single Image format if your images are landscape. As the opening card of the Carousel format, you can add an attractive video and your company’s profile as a CTA. A Collection Ad only appears on mobile and shows several products at once in a full-screen experience.
If you have a specific product set, select it as well.
When you create the template, the images from your catalog will be automatically inserted into the ad—type in your headline, ad text, and link description. Add dynamic placeholders such as brand, product name, description, price, etc.
You can also add dynamic overlays to the product images themselves and retrieve: price, percentage off, free shipping, etc., from your catalog. Overlays can be positioned, colored, and more. A-frame announcing a special offer can also be added to your images at this point, and that’s it, and your first Dynamic Product Ad is ready.
