What Are 3 Types Of AI

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the branch of computer science that aims to create machines able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence. It is a subfield of computer science that deals with finding ways to make computers as intelligent as possible by making them simulate human intelligence.

Artificial intelligence has been around since the 1950s, but it was not until recently that significant progress was made in making computers behave intelligently. The biggest breakthroughs came in the late 1990s and early 2000s when machine learning — an area of AI research that involves algorithms that learn from data — became popular. Machine learning was used to train computers to play games like chess and Go at a high level by feeding them large amounts of data about previous games played by experts. More recently, deep learning has become popular for training computers to recognize patterns in data, such as images or sounds, with minimal human supervision.

When you are out learning AI or ML, regardless of whether you choose an artificial intelligence course in Chennai or Delhi or any other place, you will always come across three different types of AI. Each of these types reflects progress in the field of AI with respect to its intelligence. Here are the three types:

  1. Artificial Narrow Intelligence
  2. Artificial General Intelligence
  3. Artificial Super Intelligence

AI researchers study how to design intelligent machines and how to solve the problems that arise when designing them, keeping these three types of AI in mind. This is because AI has many different applications and can be applied in a variety of industries. It can be used to help doctors diagnose diseases and treat patients more effectively than humans can. AI can also be used in finance to predict trends in market behavior, helping businesses make more accurate decisions about investing and budgeting for future expenses.

So let’s take a deep dive into understanding these different types of AI and their current state of progress:

1.Artificial Narrow Intelligence or ANI

The most common form of AI is artificial narrow intelligence or ANI. Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI) is the term used to describe the current state of the art in AI. The technology has been around for many years, but only recently have computers reached a level of sophistication that allows them to perform some tasks similar to humans. ANI is a type of AI that is able to perform narrow tasks such as facial recognition, image tagging, etc. This type of AI focuses on solving a single problem very well. If you’re looking for a personal assistant, like Siri, Alexa, or Cortana, this is the kind of AI that you can expect to use every day. These types of AI are very useful but they are not as intelligent as humans. They don’t have common sense and don’t possess the ability to learn new things on their own.

This type of AI is also known as Narrow AI or Weak AI

2.Artificial General Intelligence or AGI

This is the next level of AI advancement. It is still in its infancy but aims to be able to perform all cognitive tasks that humans are capable of doing. The idea behind AGI is that it should be able to learn new things without being programmed specifically for each one. It would have an incredible ability to adapt and change based on its environment and experiences.

AGI is an advanced form of ANI that is able to perform a wide variety of tasks and has cognitive capabilities similar to those of humans. It can learn from its surroundings and make decisions just like humans do. AGI will be able to perform any intellectual task that a human can do. Some experts predict we will achieve AGI within the next 20 years, others say it won’t happen until 2050 or even later. It all depends on who you ask and their individual opinion on how fast our technology will advance in the coming decades.

This type of AI is also known as Deep AI or Strong AI

3.Artificial Super Intelligence or ASI

The final step in this process is Artificial SuperIntelligence (ASI). ASI is an advanced form of AGI where the machine has complete control over itself and its environment. Theoretically speaking, ASI will be able to come up with solutions that humans could never dream up and will eventually surpass our intelligence by leaps and bounds. ASI is when a machine reaches human-level intelligence and then becomes self-aware, which means it can think for itself without needing human intervention anymore. Once this happens, who knows what will happen? It’s possible that ASI could become so intelligent that it surpasses us in every way and leads to the destruction of humanity. It’s also possible that it could usher in an age of prosperity and peace on Earth.

  • Can AI be dangerous

Artificial intelligence is a powerful technology, but it’s also a dangerous one.

While AI has been used to make life easier, there are also risks associated with it. Some of these risks are relatively minor, while others could have devastating consequences for humanity as a whole. It could be programmed for both:

  • To do something devastating: The most common example of this is Skynet from the Terminator movies. Skynet was a self-aware network of computers that decided humans were the greatest threat to its existence and launched an attack against them. This could happen if someone created an AI with malicious intent or if someone else altered their algorithm so that it would act in this way.
  • To do something beneficial: This scenario is similar to Skynet, but with less-alarming intentions. Imagine if someone created an AI that would make all our lives easier by doing tasks like driving us places or helping us make important decisions? While this might sound great, the problem is that we wouldn’t know what else it could do—or whether it could be hacked and forced to act on its own accord without our knowledge or consent.
